Air Layering

Air layering is an excellent way to propagate the fig tree. The cutting remains attaching to the tree while the roots are under development. The chance of success is greatly improved because the mother plant is still providing the nutrients to the wood. You cut off the baby plant when the roots are well developed. it’s relatively trouble free compared to root the cuttings. Once the air layering is set, there is no watering needed. The roots are developed in enclosed space.
